Task 2

Step 1

Find some information about environment course, chose Environment science for undergraduate level at University of Auckland.

Step 2

write an email to contact them and ask for an interview.

Hi sir or madam,

My name is Adrian Lee,I come from China. Now I'm studying Diploma in English at
Unitec for the second semester.I am doing some research about further study.
I've graduated from XinJiang Agriculture University and got the degree of Environment Science in China. This is why I want to study something about environment again,so could I make an appointment to interview with someone for 10 mins and I have to record them as my homework as well.Because I also study at Unitec or have a part time job everyday until 1:00,is it possible for you to have this interview at any afternoon.

Best Regards,
Your sincerely
Adrian Lee

Step 3

I tried very hard to concert them but I failed even I called them.

Here are some questions I am going to ask:

1.I am a new migrate and I had already graduated from XinJiang Agriculture University 2 years ago in China, what do I need to enter to this course, any qualifications?

2.What level of English should I have, do I need a IELTS score?

3.How many year do I need to study here to get the qualification as a full time student?

4.What kind of job can I probably get after graduated?

5.Would you like to explain some interesting subjects in this course?

Step 4

Unfortunately,I didn't have the chance to ask the questions. But I got some information from the website he gave me.

This is some information I found from that website:

Environmental Management is offered at a postgraduate level to enable students with strong disciplinary skills to gain the understanding and critical thinking skills required to become environmental stewards, policy makers and managers. Consequently, our programmes emphasise the application of your existing knowledge to environmental problem solving.
.......

Reflection

For this task,I didn't do very well. I was trying to do something which I hadn't
met before but the result was not satisfied.
It is a little bit challengeable that when I thought to concert someone at first
and it still stopped at that stage from now on as trying to ask for an interview.
I think maybe next time will be OK.

  2. Hi Adrian
I wouldn't give up so easily on this just yet. Why don't you contact the student advisor at Auckland Uni? It's their job to meet students and give advice. JC has given you the wrong info anyway (for postgrad study), so try someone else at the uni....
